Financial Director

As Dynamon continues to expand we now have a fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced Finance Director to join one of the most promising and fastest growing companies in Southampton on an initial part time basis to help disrupt the transport and logistics industry through dynamics modelling, AI and big data.

To be successful in this role you must be a person who loves working in a constantly changing environment. Must be able to work strategically, whilst at the same time able to get into the detail. You are comfortable with getting stuck in when required. You are an excellent communicator and collaborator, able to work with all types of people across the business. Lastly you must be excited about helping build and define a new business.

Responsibilities:

Leads all financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.

Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Builds and manages monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.

Advises on venture capital and private equity fundraising strategies.

Develops strategies to increase return on investment and profitability.

Oversees and reviews accounting tasks, including payroll, taxes, and compliance.

Presents financial reports to executives, board members, investors, and other stakeholders.

Collaborates with the executives and directors to create budgets and track key performance indicators.

Meets deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

Knows and adheres to UK generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Securities and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs).

Essential Requirements:

You must be a Qualified Accountant

Significant commercial experience in a Finance Director/CFO[SS1] level role (ideally in a start-up or high growth business).

Experience running a high calibre finance function

Experience in consolidation accounting, and inter-country tax and accounting matters

Experience in working with asset / inventory intensive business

Experience in leading and implementing budget and forecasting cycles

Financial modelling experience

Operational experience is key to this role to ensure that you can see the ‘bigger’ picture

Entrepreneurial spirit, seeing what needs to be done and even if you don’t have the answer, you can figure out how to get there. This ranges from day to day processes right up to large strategic initiatives

You will be able to work effectively under pressure and agile in approach to requirements from a fast moving and growing business and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.

Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the business from junior team members right up to Board level, both in writing and verbally.

Experience FP&A, MI, financial systems, cash management, financial reporting and regulatory reporting

Team-oriented; enjoys working with colleagues at all levels of the organisation

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

Experience with the automotive industry

Experience in leading Compliance, Internal Audit and handling regulatory matters

An environment of raising funding and building investment pitches would be beneficial.

Some Operational experience is key to this role to ensure that you can see the ‘bigger’ picture.

Solid and demonstrable experience working with CEO/Founder and being their ‘righthand’ person.
